Co-op Local Community Funded Counselling Project
• Project Goal: Deliver 300+ counselling sessions to individuals in immediate need across Dorset/region.
• Timeline: Planned completion: Spring 2026- Summer 2026
This project will provide structured, trauma-informed counselling sessions for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex mental health needs. The project has been designed based on clinical need assessments and existing waiting list data.
Impact without funding:
Without the remaining grant, we cannot deliver the planned counselling capacity and many individuals will be left without support.
Impact
• Months Operational: 12
• Clients Supported: 120+ projected
• Counselling Hours Delivered: 300+
• Waiting List: 80+ (current)
• Geographical Coverage: Dorset, Hampshire
• Partnered with local GPs / community organisations
• Support from volunteers and licensed counsellors
This project was designed on the basis of confirmed funding schedules, including the Co-op Local Community Fund. Without this grant, the budget gap will make the project unviable.
If you are a potential supporter, business partner, or community funder, your support enables us to reach more people who have nowhere else to turn.

Ongoing…
together with the Lottery community Fund RJVN8 Mental Health are putting into action and investing in a super-rapid response unit, as our first responders take that call which can be lifesaving. Our goal is to have a counsellor in a car to the location with a view to instant emergency care. This is a service that currently does not exist and is that missing piece of what is a very traumatic time for so many. Our plan is to invest into communities with follow up Pop up Counselling and therapy hubs where people can come in have tea or coffee and just be open about what they are feeling. The long waiting times and the costs of these services are currently a major contributing factor in the surge of suicide. 800,000 people die from suicide annually which is one person every 40 seconds according to The World Health Organisation and suicide rates have increased across the UK this year which has been exacerbated by the Covid19 epidemic.
We have plans to help as many people as possible. The money raised will be used to expand our excellent team to provide 24/7 transport provided by our local partner United Taxi's and to develop our pop-up pods.
